History

The Sri Sathya Sai Service Organisation of Mauritius traces its roots way back in 1965, when late Pandit Jasodanand had set up the Sai Baba Mandir at Curepipe. Since then the Sai movement gained momentum and at the very outset, a Coordinating committee, which later gained the status of the Central Council, was set up to manage spiritual based activities in Mauritius.

Presently the Sri Sathya Sai Service Organisation has spread throughout Mauritius and has its activities being carried out in 33 Centres and 57 Devotional groups, in seven regions.

The Organisation in Mauritius is registered with the Registrar of Association, Mauritius and is affiliated to the Sri Sathya Sai World Organisation, which has its seat at Prashanti Nilayam, Puttaparthy, in India.  Mauritius forms part of the zone 9, region 92 of an international zoning system regrouping Sai organizations of different Countries within the Sri Sathya Sai World Organisation.
