Filial Piety is an overriding theme in the Chinese tradition that finds its way every year in the immediate Divine OmniPresence Of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai.
Celebrating the Lunar ‘Chinese’ New Year – 2020, over 150 devotees of the Regional Coordinating Committee of Pamplemousses under the aegis of the Sathya Sai International Organisation Mauritius presented a solemn cultural afternoon at the Sathya Sai Centre of Triolet on Sunday 9th February 2020.
The session commenced at 1400 hrs with a procession from Trois Boutiques, Triolet, with over 75 SSE students holding aloft placards of Values marching towards the Sathya Sai Centre aimed at promoting Bhagawan’s message of five cardinal Human Values… Sathya, Dharma Shanti, Prema, Ahimsa into the masses, praying and hoping for a United World of Peace accompanied with the spectacular lion dance.
Universal prayers, a conventional Chinese bhajan and the celestial lion dance by the Chinese Art Centre followed next. Serenating the lord, young adults then burst into a spell of melodious devotional session, singing an assortment of value-based numbers with a rare mix of bhava and bhakti flowing into the melodious tunes of “Love is my form, Remind me my Lord, Chantons L’amour and Every moment of my life and Sai Nath Bhagawan” which echoed the precincts, filling and fulfilling the hearts many on the auspicious occasion, the audience joined in chorus and the message was clear, Unity Of All Religions, Oneness Of Godhood.
Brother Rajendranath Sham, then delivered the welcome address stressing on the supreme significance of the priceless Chinese tradition of Filial Piety delving in brief detail about the greater significance of Bhagawan’s Teachings reminding the assembly that the‘Biggest Gift of Swami is His Love, and we are all the recipients of this love.
The programme culminated at 15:30 hours with Mangala Arathi offered to Bhagawan and distribution of customary and traditional snacks and refreshments.
