MULTIFAITH PRAYER FOR COVID-19 PANDEMIC
In these difficult times of the spread of a deadly pandemic – the COVID-19, it has become more than necessary to intensify our collective prayers with brothers and sisters of different faiths. In this view, on the occasion of our National Independence Day on 12th March 2020, the Sathya Sai Centre of Valory-Moka conducted a multi-faith activity to pray for the victims of COVID-19 across the globe and the well-being of our Motherland and the whole of humanity irrespective of the faith or nationalities. The inspiration of conducting this multi-faith prayer activity came after successful discussions on the Pre-World Conference subtopic – Unity of Faith of devotees and members of the Sathya Sai Centre of Valory-Moka.
The activity was successfully conducted at the Multi Purpose Hall of Petit Verger, St Pierre as from 09.30 a.m to noon. Members and spiritual leaders of various faith organisations attended this event and participated enthusiastically and prayed collectively to combat the current pandemic of COVID-19. Around 70 persons attended this event and it started with a welcome speech of the Centre President – Sister Poonam Keenoo-Seegoolam and she briefed everyone on the procedures for the smooth running of the activity.

Prayer by Venerable Shi Sen Miow of Fah Yuan - Buddhist Monastery Associations
Prayer by Priest Indrasen Sawminaden of Petit Verger Kovil –Tamil Association
Prayer by Muslim Brothers of Providence
Chanting of Hanuman Chalisa by Ramayana Mandali of Sant Mandir, Petit Verger
Address of Mrs Nakuda – Muslim Associaion to reassure all that we don’t need to fear and panic when the Divine is here to Protect us all.
Rudram Chanting by Sathya Sai Centre of Valory-Moka.
Sharing of experience on the real situation in Wuhan by New Chinatown Foundation.
Talk on Corona Virus by Doctor Bussawon, followed by a question and answer session from the public.
The event concluded with the vote of thanks from the Centre President, the National Anthem and a Multifaith local song. The event showcased beautifully the essence of the SSIO of encompassing all religions, all faiths and all nationalities.
