Under the aegis of the Regional Coordinating Committee and with the blessings of Bhagawan Shri Sathya Sai Baba, a workshop on STUDY CIRCLE AND DEVOTIONAL SINGING was conducted at Umanath Mandir Hall, Montagne Blanche on the 1st of March 2020. The event started with lightning of lamps by the Young Adult Coordinators of Region 3 - Brother Pravish and Sister Ridhima. The workshop highlighted mainly the SSIO guidelines that should be followed when leading and conducting a study circle in a Sathya Sai Centre, Devotional Group or any other SSIO event.

Regional Chairperson, Sister Nusrat, addressed the audience to clarify on the importance of this workshop to all members of Sathya Sai Centres and Devotional Groups. She also highlighted that the teachings of this workshop will be extremely helpful and will serve as a good guide for all of us as we will be hosting the Pre-World Conference in September 2020 in Mauritius. The event was hosted by Sister Maginee.

The first part of the workshop was conducted by Sister Rani - Regional Study Circle Coordinator. Sister Rani enlightened the audience in detail about all the Guidelines that should be followed when planning and conducting a study circle. She also emphasized on the useful and correct ways of conducting a study circle. She also highlighted that one doesn’t need to be an intellectual to conduct a study circle or to give answers and that it can be done by anyone because of the fact that it is related to basic human values that we follow in our daily lives. Brother Ashok Beeharry, Young Adults Advisor of SSIOM, was also present for the event and he also addressed the audience with a short discourse. He also congratulated the Regional Coordinating Committee to take up the initiative of organizing this workshop and also explained some main points with regard to conducting a good study circle. To conclude the first part of the workshop, a study circle was conducted and members of Sathya Sai Centres and Devotional Groups participated enthusiastically. During this study circle, demonstrations were also given in how to lead and direct a study circle.

The second part of the workshop on Devotional Singing was led by Brother Vinay Juggoo. Brother Vinay also shared the guidelines set by the National council for Bhajans. He clearly explained the way of conducting Bhajans for home kirtans, birthdays, funeral and other events. He also emphasised on the proper ways of starting and ending a bhajan in a proper manner. A question and answer session was also conducted whereby the audience was also able to ask questions and clear their doubts.

Around 100 devotees graced this event and Young Adults of the region were also present to help and ensure a smooth running of the workshop. The event ended with vote of thanks by Sister Maginee followed by mangal arati.
